I read in the Dallas Morning News this morning that Frey has been dropped by his current publisher. He had contracted with Riverhead Books for two upcoming books, but their deal is now dissolved.
I have mixed feelings about this... I feel sorry for Frey, because he does seem genuinely apologetic for all the hoopla that happened with Pieces, but then I really can't blame a publisher for not wanting to deal with him anymore. He seems to generate the wrong kind of publicity, which always falls back on everyone else who has helped him... his publisher, Oprah, etc. However, I'm almost positive somebody else will snatch him up immediately. I mean, he's all the buzz in the literary world right now & whether the buzz is good or bad, it's buzz nonetheless. Somebody out there is seeing big dollar signs with him!

I agree Amberly! Someone will pick him up soon. You can always find some publisher willing to take it.
