one good, one not so much

I read one good book last week, and started another that I just couldn't get into. The good read was The Lovely Bones. It was very unique in that it's told from the point of view of a murdered girl that is watching the earth from her heaven. It kept me intrigued and was a real page turner. I finished it in an evening. Except for one part that I thought did not flow with the book and I wish the author had left out, I really enjoyed this one. Let me know if you want to borrow it. The book I could not get into was Cold Mountain. I got about a quarter of the way in and was still not interested in the characters or plot. So I finally just gave up and set it aside. There's a movie of this one with Jude Law and Nicole Kidman. Did anyone ever see that?

I LOVED the book, Cold Mountain. I guess that just goes to show you how people prefer different things. I never saw the movie - I heard that it was slightly different from the book, but not very much. They probably injected a little bit of Hollywood into it as usual. Its also a very sad story. I thought that the last third of the book and the ending were the best parts.
