...for a new post on this thing! Unfortunately, I have no brilliant ideas for a post, so what's everyone reading right now? Other than our book club book, of course. Anything good?
I read The Falls by Joyce Carol Oates and liked it. It was a very stylistic book and I had to get into it to really flow with the style. But, it was a moving and interesting story and overall I enjoyed the read.
I also finally read Angels and Demons by Dan Brown and loved it. Stephanie, you were right, it is even better than The DaVinci Code. I really wish I had read it before Casey and I went to Italy so that while we were in Rome I could have checked out some of the hot spots in the book.
Upcoming on my list to read are: Blue Shoes and Happiness by Alexander McCall Smith; The Human Stain by Philip Roth; and Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller...among others.

I read Blue Like Jazz recently...was not as impressed as most seem to be with that book. I have some books in mind that I would like to read soon. Beloved by Toni Morrison, Reflections on the Psalms by C.S. Lewis, The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison (I tend to read several books at a time by the same author, not sure why I do that.), The COlor of Law by Giminez.
Becky,
I've read Beloved and The Bluest Eye and really enjoyed them. I have not read reflections on the Psalms but I love C.S. Lewis and in light of our Sunday morning bible class topic, it would be a good time to read that one.
I am reading Echo in the Darkness by Francine Rivers right now. Then I'll go ahead and read Next so I can pass it along. Becky, I have The Color of Law if you want to borrow it. It was good. I always have a huge list of books to read. I am so bad about keeping a stack of books by my bed that are in my list of books to read.
My list is growing way too long! I need an entire week or more by myself to catch up with everything I want to read!
I still have The Life of Pi. (Sorry to whoever loaned that to me... I promise I'm trying!) And, I'm going to start Machete Season soon. I'd like to borrow The Color of Law eventually. And, now I'm really interested in The Mark of the Lion series that Stephanie mentioned on her blog. I think those are the same ones that Karen H. & Kelli recommended to me also. There are just way too many books & not near enough time!! Of course, I realize that spending evenings outside with my kiddos is more important at this stage of my life... so, I'll just keep adding to my list for now!
Also, is Beloved by Toni Morrison the same book that was made into the movie with Oprah?
