B.A.D. Girls Book Rating: 8
Our favorite thing about it: The characters and the interesting plot.
Our least favorite thing about it: Beginning was slow to get going.
Main Topics of Discussion: Magic, Character Development
Our favorite quote: “The world is neither fair nor right, but it has a way of balancing itself.”
Notes: We liked reading this second book in the Shades of Magic series. While we thought this one was slower to start, and had almost too fast of pacing in the second half, we actually liked the plot of this one overall better than the first book. The new characters were better and interesting. And the returning characters were fleshed out and developed in satisfying ways. We all loved the story at the very beginning where Lila deceives a whole ship full of men. However, we thought that her progression in mastering magic was very quick. This was a great second installment in this series and we enjoyed it.
Memorable Meeting Moments: We celebrated Stephanie's birthday.
What We Ate: Pork tenderloin, sweet potato puree, and crispy Brussels sprouts.
