One-sentence summary: An aging actress decides to detail the relationships she's had throughout her lifetime to a seemingly random journalist - with surprising reveals along the way.
B.A.D. Girls Book Rating: 8
Our favorite thing about it: Such a great story.
Our least favorite thing about it: Might have been slightly predictable toward the end - the big reveal. But that's stretching to find something.
Main Topics of Discussion: Relationships, Hollywood, Aging, Honesty
Our favorite quote: “I spent half my time loving her and the other half hiding how much I loved her.”
Notes: We all really loved this book. It was such an engaging and interesting story. It was different than what we expected from the title, but we loved that it was different. It was easy to read and to follow - we liked that it was chronological since there were so many characters. We thought it was clever to begin each chapter with a description for each husband. And we loved the twist - the reveal about Evelyn's true love and why that was complicated for her at that time.
Memorable Meeting Moments: We had a lovely patio table at the restaurant - even though it was a bit warm outside that evening!
What We Ate: We met at J. Theodore where we had all sorts of delicious drinks and food, and then we went back to Rachel's house for discussion.
